Founder & CEO
Daryn Strauss is a Writers Guild Award winning writer, producer, and director with 15 years of experience in production, strategy, and planning on projects that have spanned digital, social media, live events, and TV and have garnered over 250 million views and recognition from the Writers Guild Awards, Emmys, and more.
As the Founder & CEO of Digital Chick Productions, she has strategized, written, or produced multi-platform projects and experiences for a variety of clients, both agency-side and in-house, including NBCUniversal, PBS, Sony Music, AOL, Digitas, BBH New York, and the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s.) Digital Chick was born out of Daryn’s blog celebrating the work of women in web series and has grown to produce digital content, digital experiences, and live events.
She has served as a producer and/or director of 40+ major national events and conferences, including numerous NewFronts, the digital experience for NBCU's Upfront at Radio City Music Hall, and 4A’s national conferences. She served as the programming director for the EMMY nominated MAKERS: Women Who Make America (narrated by Meryl Streep), executing the biggest content activation in AOL & PBS history. As a content creator, she won a Writers Guild Award for Weight, her sharp-witted comedy about the dysfunctional reality of life after reality TV weight loss. She was previously nominated for a Writers Guild Award for her pioneering series about life during the economic crisis Downsized, recognized by Los Angeles Times, IndieWire, and The Guardian as one of the best series on the web.
Daryn comes from a multicultural New Jersey family of latin percussionists and strong women and is known for her passion for celebrating and advancing the work of women who make content. She has spoken at events such as the Baltimore New Media Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival, and on Capitol Hill.
